Bri-Circle Leg Irons
Made of heavy, chunky wrought iron, these leg irons mean business. The lock is a pin-tumbler based one, the irons are on the small side (very snug fit over combat boots), and the chain is short. These features combine to increase security and the sense of permanence. I have heard that these are typically used on prisoners sentenced to death. Once applied, they are not removed till after the execution. There are two metal disks (not pictured), one for each side, that are screwed on the top of the lock case in order to cover the key way, probably to prevent dirt from entering the key hole, so that they can be reused. |
